Hino em Espanhol / Anthem in Spanish

Artistas "Latinos" (diz-se APENAS mexicanos) estao gravando o hino nacional americano em espanhol como forma de demonstrar APOIO aos imigrantes [mexicanos] sem documentacao (vulgo ilegais).

Latino artists (reads ONLY mexicans) are recording the national anthem in Spanish to, according to the president of this Record company, "show our solidarity with the undocumented migrants."

E revoltante pensar que pessoas que querem HONESTAMENTE e por uma BOA RAZAO vir para os Estados Unidos devam passar por todo um processo chato e por vezes penoso para chegar aqui e ver todos os ilegais (maioria mexicanos) andando com orgulho nas ruas e, agora, cantarolando o hino nacional pelas ruas na lingua deles!!!

It just makes me mad to think that people who HONESTLY and for a GOOD REASON want to come to the U.S. have to go thru such an annoying and at times painful process to eventually get here and see all those illegals (most of them mexicans) walking on the streets holding their heads uphigh singing the national anthem in their language!!!

Vamos fazer uma versao em portugues, italiano, frances, romeno, russo, arabe...

Let's make a version in Portuguese, Italian, French, Romanian, Russian, Arabic...

6 Flags-April 23, 2006

No domingo fomos ao Six Flags (um parque aqui em Atlatna que tem montanhas-russas). On Sunday we went to Six Flags.
Aqui estao algumas fotos (vontade de bater no Robin, nao nA Robin;) Here are some pics (I felt like beating Robin up, I mean not the she-Robin that went with us but he-Robin that was at the park ;) ....

Foi muito legal andar numa montanha-russa-americana pela primeira vez (maior que as do Ita Parque). It was good riding an American Rollercoaster for the first time (bigger than the ones I was used to in Belo Horizonte).

Ficamos la de 12:00 ate as 9:00 quando fechou. We were there from 12:00 to 9:00 when it closed. (I feel like I am repeating my-own-self)

A foto com a turma do Loonie Toonies e meio comproMetedora.... como podem ver enquanto eu inocentemente poso para a foto o Piu-Piu esta tentando algo mais com total apoio do Perna Longa (que apenas esboca um sorriso malicioso).

A posicao do Pinta tambem nao eh muito masculina: um lado do garoto que poucos conheciamos, eh perceptivel que o elemento nem mesmo se da conta do fato de sua namorada estar logo ao seu lado (alias com um Patolino mal-intencionado por perto)... Pintas pose is not what one would call masculine: a facet of this individual that just a few of his friends know, it noticable that he doesn't even care about the fact that his girlfriend is right beside him (btw with a "second-intentioned" Daffy Duck nearby)...


Bom, foi muito legal, queria que minha familia e amigos tambem pudessem estar la com a gente... espero que um dia estejam... Well, it was sweet, i wish my family and friends could have been there with us... I hope someday they'll be...

Special Olympics-April 18, 2006

Special Olympics is one of the best parts of my job. This year I was able to drag Enzo malong with me and I think he had too much fun.. notice what he did to his hair???

Motorista Particular / Chauffeur

Como todos podem perceber, a vida esta' caminhando... muitas mudancas, boas mudancas (concordo com Lavoisier).
As everybody can see life is running smoothly... many cahnges, good changes (I agree with Lavoisier on this one).
A Paige tem colocado sempre informacoes e fotos. Eu, como estou sempre ocupado com formularios ou falando com parentes e amigos na internet ou no telefone, nao tenho comuicado muito aqui.
Paige has been posting pics and info. I, as I'm always busy with forms or talking to my family and friends online or thru the telephone, have'nt been communicating much here.

Essa semana, quarta-feira, fui entrevistado pela diretora de uma escola aqui perto de casa. Ela pareceu disposta a me dar o emprego de professor de ingles para alunos que nao falam a lingua. Apenas me recomendou revisar logo meu historico para ver que tipo de teste terei que fazer aqui e validar meu certificado para lecionar na Georgia. Anteotem mesmo eu enviei o meu historico para que um escritorio responsavel o avalie.
This week, wednesday, I was interviewd by the principal at a school near our apartment. She seemed to be willing to give me the job as an ESOL teacher. I just have to get my transcripts evaluated ASAP to see what kind of test I'll have to go thru so my certificate will be valid to teach in Georgia. The day before yesterday I sent the transcripts off to an office in charge of evaluating them.

Ontem tambem enviei os formularios e documentos necessarios para fazer o Ajuste de Status aqui para pegar meus documentos permanentes. No inicio da semana eu ate tive que ir ao medico para que ele transferisse minha folha de vacina para uma folha timbrada dele.
Foi dificil preencher tudo.... o valor: 180 dolares = permissao de trabalho
395 dolares = taxa do ajuste + taxa de impressao digital
45 dolares = transcricao da folha de vacina

Yesterday I also sent off the forms and necessary documents for the Adjustment of Status so I can get my residency. In the beggining of the week I even had to go to the doctor for him to transpose my vaccination sheet onto his Civil Surgeon official sheet ("when you read, change the vowel").... It was really hard to get it all together...
the cost: $180 = work permit
$395 = adjustment fee + fingerprinting fee
$ 45 = fee for transposition of vaccination sheet

Entao, se nao tenho ligado muito e' porque o bicho ta pegando aqui. Mas agora que preenchemos tudo e enviamos ta' mais tranquilo. Agora a proxima coisa e' a carteira de motorista: vou ter que fazer tanto o teste escrito quanto o de rua aqui :(
So, if I haven't been calling it's because we've got a lot going on. But now that we filing everything out and sent it it's kinda okay. The next thing now is the driver's license: I'm gonna have to take both the written and the driving test here :(

Bom, no mais a gente tem almocado, jantado e saido com amigos e parentes da Paige, a gente tem visitado-os tambem. A Paige e eu fomos assitir ao show Celtic Woman na terça-feira a noite, muito bom. Sexta passada fomos a um exposicao de corpos humanos. Temos nos divertido aqui...
Well, all in all we have been having lunch, dinner and going out with friends and Paige's family, we've also been visiting them. Paige and I went to the Cletic Woman Concert las tuesday, excellent. Last friday we also went with Lisa and her husband to the Bodies Exhibit. We've been having fun here...

Hoje foi um almoço de Pa'scoa na casa dos avos da Paige (os pais, o irmao e a esposa e os tios dela estavam la): foi divertido.
Today was the Easter Lunch at Paige's grandparent's (her parents, brother and wife and her uncle and aunt we there too): it was fun.

Enzo preparing for AOS

These days it seems like all we do is work on Enzo's adjustment of status. Here is from yesterday when we went to get his passport pictures and it just wasn't working. There was always a shadow behind him so eventually after about an hour of trying we headed to another store and we were successful.

Enzo and I drove to Atlanta to see the Bodies exhibit (which by the was really cool). We got to meet up with an old friend, Lisa Lance, and her lovely husband Dustin. It was great to see them.
