Just thinking....
Warning: This is not a deep blog, if you are looking for something professional go to Wikipedia. :)
Sometimes seeing God though others is the best way to learn more about who He is…
I feel like God sometimes. When I hold my dog, Bruiser I actually feel like the creator of the universe. I know this may seem weird to all you out there reading this but I can’t help but feel it. I start to understand how much God loves me, how much he protects me, how much He provides for me. If only I could react the same way my dog does to his owner with an undying, unconditional love.
Enzo and I were putting together a music selection recently for a wedding video we made for a couple and I ran across a song by Natalie Merchant. I have been a big fan of 10,000 Maniacs since I was in middle school and then it filtered into a love for Natalie. I found the song “My Beloved Wife”
I couldn’t help but think about how God loves us like a husband loves his wife. It doesn’t matter if you are married or single about whether God loves you like this. That is the best part. My favorite book in the bible is Ephesians. It reminds me every time I read it that we are sealed with the Holy Spirit (our engagement ring). This song is a musical display of how we are separate from God because of sin, but how He longs to be with us. We will all be married one day and hopefully by then Natalie Merchant’s lyrics won’t be sad about losing the “Beloved wife.” Instead it will be about a wedding day fit for a king.
Here are the lyrics (if you actually can listen to it grab a box of tissues) listen to it if you get a chance; it is better that way.
You were the love
for certain of my life
you were simply my beloved wife
I don't know for certain
how I'll live my life
now alone without my beloved wife
my beloved wife
I can't believe
I've lost the very best of me
you were the love
for certain of my life
you were simply my beloved wife
I don't know for certain
how I'll live my life
now alone without my beloved wife
my beloved wife
I can't believe
I've lost the very best of me
you were the love
for certain of my life
for 50 years simply my beloved wife
with another love I'll never lie again
it's you I can't deny
it's you I can't defy
a depth so deep
into my grief
without my beloved soul
I renounce my life
as my right
now alone without my beloved wife
my beloved wife
my beloved wife
my love is gone she suffered long
in hours of pain
my love is gone
now my suffering begins
my love is gone
would it be wrong if I should
surrender all the joy in my life
go with her tonight?
my love is gone she suffered long
in hours of pain
my love is gone
would it be wrong if I should
just turn my face away from the light
go with her tonight?

Time to vent
A while back I got forwarded this email and I can't help but share it. This week the kids are back in school and all the sudden I am reconsidering my career. Since I teach special ed., every year I have a different and unique caseload...and oh do I have one this year! Read and enjoy!
Teachers Get Paid TOO Much!
Teachers get paid TOO much...I'm fed up with teachers and their hefty
salary schedules. What we need here is a little perspective.
If I had my way, I'd pay these teachers myself-I'd pay them babysitting
wages. That's right-instead of paying these outragous taxes, I'd give them
$3 an hour out of my own pocket. And I'm only going to pay them for five
hours, not coffee breaks. That would be $15 a day. Each parent should pay
$15 a day for these teachers to baby-sit their child. Even if they have
more than one child, it's still a lot cheaper than private day care.
Now, how many children do they teach every day-maybe 20? That's
$15x20=$300 a day. But remember, they only work 180 days a year! I am
not going to pay them for all those vacations! $300x180=$54,000. (Just a
minute, I think my calculator needs new batteries.)
I know now you teachers will say-what about those who have 10 years
experience and a master's degree? Well, maybe (to be fair) they could get
the minimum wage, and instead of just baby-sitting, they could read the
kids a story. We could round that off to about $5 an hour, times five
hours, times 20 children. That's $500 a day times 180 days. That's
$90,000...HUH?!?
Wait a minute, let's get a little perspective here. Baby-sitting wages are
too good for these teachers. Did anyone see a salary schedule around here?

Reminiscences
I miss my childhood. Dont get me wrong here, I like being an adult... the thing is that with adulthood comes responsibilities and you only see your friends every once in a while. I have a new home, have had it actually for a little over a year now. I like it a lot, but speaking of responsibilities, now I have to take care of this house, or should I say home? Both I guess... I'm the man of the house here. If I don't look after this house and it's other two inhabitants I'll be failing my purpose in life, not only my purpose but my goal... Worries can get in the way of you and your friends and family, you constantly snap at them. That has happened to me, constant mood swings. In the end, I hope they all know that I love them and that I do have emotional issues, it's not their fault.
I like this new house. The thing is that it is far from where most of my friends live, it's quite a long ways... Oh my friends, I miss the time when we were all close to one another. It didn't take any planning ahead of time to get together, we were all there. Those were good days, nothing to worry about, just eat, have fun and learn a new thing every now and then...
That house, just thinking of it makes me want to be there. I can feel that cozy environment, surrounded by friends, family and good times. Still good, but now memories... That comforter, soft, I can still feel it on my skin, soft, so relaxing to lie on it, so soft. I still remember the patterns on it, I know exactly where each colorful square is on it, its coordinates, I always slept on the same spot, I remember like it was today: where the yellow and blue squares intersect with orange and green ones.
I want to be there sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I love my new house. It's just that the old house was where I was saved. Lots of good stuff happened there. I want to be there often, actually.
Sometimes I feel like crawling up the stairs and just breaking into the door of my old bedroom. But I know I have my mom and dad to go back to in my new home. And I have to take care of them...
And a 15-minute car ride... I enjoy it, it also gives me time to get comfortable with the idea that I don't have my old bedroom. On the other hand I can always see my friends Tessa, Pete and Joe...

Jason Harmon visits....
This week we were lucky enough to have a little visitor come see us.:)
He drove all the way from Birmingham, AL. He will get mad at me for saying this but I am going to say it anyway..I think he should move to Atlanta. He needs to be closer to us. We could play board games everynight.
And ladies..yes he is single. Call me and I will give you his number!
